Financial pulse: first signs of economic recovery
At the end of April — beginning of may there were first signals of recovery of the Russian economy, noted in the next issue of the weekly analytical review of the “Financial pulse”.
At the same time, the may survey data indicate the signs of the emergence of delayed secondary effects of restrictive measures. This can slow the pace of recovery of the Russian economy after passing through the most acute phase of the pandemic coronavirus infection.
Despite the rise in optimism with the gradual exit of countries from the isolation mode, global financial markets remain sensitive to news on the duration of the pandemic and the depth of the recession in the global economy. However, the situation in the Russian markets this week are generally favourable. The strengthening of the ruble and the reduction in risk premiums for Russia was accompanied by growth of investments of foreign investors in OFZs, and has resumed purchases of Russian shares on the stock exchange.
