Information on maximum yield on deposits of individuals

In connection with adoption of the Federal Law dated 25.12.2023 № 655-FZ “On Amending Article 18996 of the Federal Law “On Insolvency (Bankruptcy)” and Federal Law “On Deposit Insurance in Banks of the Russian Federation” the Bank of Russia from 5 january 2024, the Bank of Russia stopped calculating the base level of deposit yield for establishing banks paying additional and increased additional rate of insurance contributions to the mandatory deposit insurance fund.

The Bank of Russia will continue to calculate on a monthly basis the average market values of the maximum yield on individual deposits according to the methodology of the basic level of deposit yield and publish them for informational purposes in the Banking Sector subsection of the Statistics section

The average market value of the maximum yield on deposits of individuals is determined by the Bank of Russia as the average value of the maximum yield on deposits attracted in banks that attracted in the past calendar month in the aggregate two thirds of the total volume of relevant deposits in banks of the Russian Federation.

The average market value of the maximum yield on deposits of individuals is determined by the Bank of Russia for types of deposits grouped according to one or several conditions of their placement in banks of the Russian Federation, on on the basis of information on the maximum yield on attracted deposits submitted by banks to the Bank of Russia on a monthly basis in accordance with the Federal Law “On the Central Bank of the Russian Federation (Bank of Russia)”.

The procedure for calculation by banks of the maximum yield on attracted deposits on the basis of interest rates taking into account other material benefits and other conditions of attracting deposits for the purpose of submitting information on the maximum yield on attracted deposits to the Bank of Russia is established by a regulatory act of the Bank of Russia
